Case Study

Historic Structure

The museum was due to undergo a refurbishment and extension.  The Client requested a suite of masonry sampling for compressive strength testing and mortar sampling for mix constituents.  In addition, a requirement to carry out an architectural scope included Karsten testing to masonry units and a detailed report of the stones for repair purposes.

Outcome: All samples were retrieved without damage to any surrounding masonry and were made good using hot slaked lime mortar, all within agreed specified timescales and within budget.
